Technology is advancing at an exponential rate often called the "Law of Accelerating Returns." If futurist predictions prove correct, we'll have advanced molecular manufacturing by around 2025, and possibly the replacement of humanity by vastly advanced machines a decade or two later.
This is a chronicle of our journey to that future, one advancing technology article at a time. I post the more significant and interesting articles as I come across them.

I hope this guy isn't killed or disappeared. We've seen that happen with Ning Lee.
We all know that in the dessert southwest there are locations where you could build hundreds of thousands of acres of solar panels. With that as an energy source. There are plenty of locations with Rivers near by for a source of water. Use an efficient catalyst and plentiful energy gives you plentiful hydrogen. Hydrogen can be shipped via pipeline to all the cities in the U.S. for use in electrical generation, cooking, heating and automotive use. This can all be done with todays. The new catalyst makes it even more profitable.
Alternatively, anyone can put up some solar panels. By a Storage tank and start heating your house and hot water as well as cooking using a home sized electrolysis unit using this catalyst. Use a home fuel cell unit and you get electricity 24 hours a day and unlimited hot water as a by-product. Use the hot exhaust to heat your home in the winter.
I live in a Condo community. We have funded and built 25 acres of Solar panels. They power all our common area electrical usage. The residual electricity that is generated is sold to the local electric company. This pays all our Condo fees and gives each home owner a residual check in the mail every month. We have already done this an it became operational two years ago. I have proposed that we do an infrastructure project to install a storage tank and electrolysis unit but there are zoning issues. We all heat with natural gas and most have natural gas hot water heaters and stoves. When the money is paid back to the association, next year, for our original investment, then we will add another 25 acres of solar panels. Our land and infrastructure were established with the goal of having 100 acres of solar panels on the site. After that is paid off, the board has agreed to fund the electrolysis unit and a large storage tank.
Nice. Good to hear that. What part of the country are you in?
Hydrogen is a bit tricky to transport, but it could be done.
