Technology is advancing at an exponential rate often called the "Law of Accelerating Returns." If futurist predictions prove correct, we'll have advanced molecular manufacturing by around 2025, and possibly the replacement of humanity by vastly advanced machines a decade or two later.
This is a chronicle of our journey to that future, one advancing technology article at a time. I post the more significant and interesting articles as I come across them.

Techno-optimism and the rule-of-threes: why the world will soon enter an era of mass flourishing
Encouraging, although I think the rule of threes sounds a bit forced:

Potential Alzheimer’s Treatments Discovered in Analysis of Existing Cancer Drugs
"The scientists identified brain protein changes related to the APOE4 genetic risk variant in young postmortem study participants (average age at death was 39 years) and compared these changes with those in the autopsied brains of people with Alzheimer’s and those without (average age at death was 89 years)." ... "Their findings show an experimental drug for liver cancer and Dasatinib, approved for chronic myeloid leukemia, act upon some of these Alzheimer’s disease related proteins, suggesting they could be potential Alzheimer’s therapies. The drugs also reduced neuroinflammation, amyloid secretion, and tau phosphorylation in cell culture experiments, underscoring their potential as candidates to be tested in Alzheimer’s clinical trials."

Promising New Approach To Treat Alzheimer’s Disease – And Also Vaccinate Against It
Well, this is promising:
“While the science is currently still at an early stage, if these results were to be replicated in human clinical trials, then it could be transformative. It opens up the possibility to not only treat Alzheimer’s once symptoms are detected, but also to potentially vaccinate against the disease before symptoms appear.”

Is Unreal Engine the Future of Filmmaking?
This has been my vision for creating a "virtual studio" to allow full creation of movies using just a desktop computer. It still needs to be simplified for accessibility for all screenwriters, but the technology is all here:
