Not exactly my idea of delicious, but it could go somewhere:

Technology is advancing at an exponential rate often called the "Law of Accelerating Returns." If futurist predictions prove correct, we'll have advanced molecular manufacturing by around 2025, and possibly the replacement of humanity by vastly advanced machines a decade or two later.
This is a chronicle of our journey to that future, one advancing technology article at a time. I post the more significant and interesting articles as I come across them.

Why Robots Will Be The Biggest Job Creators In World History

I'm not sure I agree with this, mainly because all previous technological advancements solved one or a few problems, thus freeing up people to do other work. But when robots can replace humans in ANY line of work--including innovation itself--then it's not the plow, the horse-drawn carriage, the typewriter that's rendered obsolete, but human beings themselves.

Get ready for $10 oil
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ready-10-oil-230002605.html
Although I'm glad petro-nations are weakened by cheap oil, I think this is only bad news for alternative energy development and adoption. It won't stop it...but it could slow it down by years.
Ooops. Updated to proper link.

DNA robots to attempt to cure late-stage leukemia this year, then repair spinal cords
Wow:
http://www.foresight.org/nanodot/?p=6410
"A human patient with late stage leukemia will be given DNA nanobot treatment. Without the DNA nanobot treatment the patient would be expected to die in the summer of 2015. Based upon animal trials they expect to remove the cancer within one month.
Within 1 or 2 years they hope to have spinal cord repair working in animals and then shortly thereafter in humans."

I would think this is ultimately good news for US manufacturers, though not as much for consumers in the short term.
